Sydney Capital Partners Joins Forces With New York Based New Bridge Global Opportunity Fund
Sydney, Wednesday 25 July 2007 – Sydney Capital Partners, a leading investment banking and corporate advisory firm, today announced that it had entered into a strategic partnership with New York based firm, Nova Capital Partners. Under the terms of the alliance, Sydney Capital Partners will be the exclusive representative of Nova in Australia.
In announcing the partnership, Sydney Capital Partners managing partner, Vincent Sweeney, said that the company was pleased to be able to offer an extended range of services to its clients through the services of Nova Capital Partners. "Nova Capital Partners is a leading middle market investment bank with offices in New York, Johannesburg, Sao Paulo and Geneva and are focused on and committed to serving middle market companies" said Sweeney. "Unlike most traditional US-centric investment banks, Nova is a global firm with expertise in many areas of the world and has lead transactions for many clients outside the USA."

According to Levin, Nova has the capacity to raise up to $US 500 million in debt or equity but specializes in transactions between $US 15 -100 million. Following the formalization of the partnership, middle market companies in Australia looking to access capital in the US can deal locally with Sydney Capital Partners who will co-facilitate projects with the Nova team in New York. Capital can be provided in the form of equity, senior debt, subordinated debt, convertible debt and mezzanine financing.
Nova's professional staff has been drawn from some of the largest investment banks and financial institutions such as Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers and American Capital Strategies.
