Rosalind H. Thomas, Director
Rosalind is currently Director of Nova Capital Africa. Previously she was a Director at the African Development Bank (AfDB)
(2007-2008), responsible for the NEPAD, Regional Integration
and Trade Department. From 2003-2007, she was the founding CEO
of the SADC Development Finance Resource Centre in Gaborone,
Botswana. She is an expert on infrastructure development
finance and has an in-depth knowledge of Africa’s business
climate. Rosalind was the first African and second woman to hold
a position on the world-wide Technical Advisory Panel of the
World Bank's Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility
(PPIAF) from 2005-2007.
From 1998-2001, she was Manager of the Risk Management Unit at
the Development Bank of Southern Africa, in South Africa. She
holds a Ph.D. from the University of Witwatersrand in South
Africa; an M.A. in International Economics and Law from SAIS -
Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C.; post-graduate
studies at Harvard University, Yale Law School, and Cambridge
University in the UK, and has been awarded six scholarships for
educational excellence. Rosalind has authored numerous
professional publications; guest lectured at numerous
universities and participated in several consulting studies and
conferences.
