Paul Dixon, Managing Director, Investment Banking

Paul Dixon is currently Managing Director of Investment Banking at Nova Capital Global Markets LLC.  Paul brings deep investment banking and fund management experience to Nova.  Prior to joining Nova, Paul was the Managing Director and Fund Manager of the Venture Capital fund set up by Ernst & Young, where he raised their first fund and led its efforts to become a leading venture capital fund in South Africa. 

Prior to this, Paul held various senior positions at Ernst & Young from 1986 through 1998. He served as an auditor to a broad range of South African companies before moving into the corporate finance division where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, due diligence investigations, valuations, corporate restructuring and other JSE-related activities. He then became the first South African to join E&Y’s United States Corporate Finance practice, where for almost 3 years he focused on cross-border transactions (particularly global markets), joint ventures, capital raising and other activities.  In 1997, Paul returned to South Africa to run Ernst & Young’s investment banking activities, where he helped establish E&Y’s presence in mergers and acquisitions. He subsequently joined Aquila Growth Limited, a publicly-listed private equity fund before establishing the Venture Capital business in 1999.  Paul began consulting to NCP in early 2006 and relocated to the United States in mid 2008 to head up their Investment Banking business. He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Witwatersrand and is a Chartered Accountant in South Africa.
