Mandla S.V. Gantsho, Chief Executive Officer
Mandla Gantsho, currently CEO of Nova Capital Africa, is an
expert on infrastructure development finance and has an in-depth knowledge of
Africa’s business climate. Mandla was from 2006-2009, a Vice-President of the
African Development Bank (AfDB), responsible for Infrastructure, the Private
Sector, Water and Sanitation, NEPAD, Regional Integration and Trade operations. Prior to
joining the AfDB, he served as CEO and MD (2001-2006) and CFO (1995-2000) at the
Development Bank of Southern Africa, in South Africa. From 2000-2001, he was
Assistant to the Vice President: International Finance Corporation (World Bank
Group), Washington D.C, USA; and from 1994 – 1995, he worked as a senior manager
at Transnet and manager at Mobil Oil/Engen. Mandla has held directorships
at Group Five and CIC Energy Corporation Ltd, and is currently a non-executive
director at Sasol and AfroCentric Investment Corporation. He holds several
degrees, including a PhD from the University of Pretoria, an MSc from George
Washington University in the USA, a BCom Hons from the University of Cape Town
and a BCom from the former University of the Transkei. He is a
Chartered Accountant (SA).
